Cost is Not Always the Most Important Factor but Changing Suppliers is a Reality for Corporate Travel Managers Today.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- AirPlus International, a global provider of corporate travel payment solutions, releases the July edition of The WireOfrom AirPlus. This month, corporate travel professionals were asked to weigh cost versus other criteria in the selection of preferred suppliers. Over two-thirds (76%) found that cost and savings criteria gained importance over the last six months. Not surprisingly, cost ranked highest in importance with the selection of airline, hotel and rental car supplier. However, cost ranked much lower in importance for selecting travel management companies (TMCs) and payment solutions, where data reporting was valued as most important. "The survey illustrates that change is a reality in today's economic climate; with 77% making changes to hotel suppliers, 55% airline suppliers, 36% rental car suppliers and 29% changing their TMC's as a result," said Richard Crum, President of AirPlus International, Inc.
