Cost Plus World Market Opens Its 4th Store in Texas Marking Its 54th Store Nationwide.


SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 1996--Cost Plus Inc. will premiere its second winning combination of Home Decor and Home Entertaining "World Market" stores on Thursday, Sept. 12.

This addition will mark the 4th store in Texas and the 54th store for Cost Plus which currently operates in 10 states. Cost Plus World Market, opening in the Plaza Del Norte Coordinates:  Plaza del Norte is a regional shopping mall located Hatillo, Puerto Rico.  Shopping Center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The company's four key product categories are (1) home decor including furniture, rugs and baskets; (2) tabletop items including glassware, ceramics, and kitchen; (3) gift items such as jewelry, candles, and seasonal items; and, (4) consumable items such as wine, gourmet foods, coffee and teas.

The company believes that breadth and depth of assortment in its selected casual living categories position Cost Plus as a destination store.

Cost Plus was founded in 1958 when a San Francisco businessman blended his passion for travel and retail by selling shiploads of hand-woven wicker. In addition to the San Antonio store, Cost Plus plans to open its fifth Texas store in Austin on Oct. 4, 1996.
