Cosi moves to Garment District. (Retail New York).


The leasing team of Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino of Garrick-Aug Worldwide, Ltd., has arranged leasing for Cosi at 498 Seventh Ave., the south west corner of 37th Street, in the heart of the new Garment District The Garment District is a store in Cambridge, MA and is well known for its Dollar-A-Pound clothing store. The Garment District started out as an offshoot of Harbor Textiles, a textile company which produced wiping cloths for industry that began in the late 1940s. .

The term of the lease for this Cosi, displaced from the World Trade Center, is for fifteen years for 2,000 SF. The space was previously occupied by Alkit. Cosi will be joining its neighbor, Washington Mutual “WaMu” redirects here. For the Washington, DC radio station, see WAMU.

 was also a recent deal of the Garrick-Aug team.

"First, there was Cosi," says Faith Hope Consolo, vice chairman, "brought to America by brothers, Jay and Shep Wainwright from Paris.

Joe Aquino, managing director, continues, "498 Seventh Ave. is an address that has long been synonymous with synonymous with
adjective equivalent to, the same as, identical to, similar to, identified with, equal to, tantamount to, interchangeable with, one and the same as
 the Fashion Center, or Garment District. But, the Fashion Center is no longer a neighborhood limited to one industry. There has been an influx of many non-fashion related businesses. The "new Garment District", as it is now called, is home to office tenants such as Bates Bates   , Katherine Lee 1859-1929.
