Cosh shame.

A FUNDAMENTAL test of any civilised society is how it cares for its most vulnerable members.

So yesterday's disclosure that up to 1,800 dementia sufferers may be killed every year by a "chemical cosh" will greatly distress families.

Victims deserve dignity, not an antipsychotic antipsychotic /an·ti·psy·chot·ic/ (-si-kot´ik) effective in the treatment of psychotic disorders; also, an agent that so acts. Antipsychotics are a chemically diverse but pharmacologically similar class of drugs; besides psychotic  drug wrongly given to tens of thousands of elderly people in care homes and hospitals.

The need for immediate improvement in dementia care couldn't be clearer or more urgent.
