Travis Gardner was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Chris Kaufmann was 4-for-5 with a double as Reedsport defeated host Riddle 9-8 to salvage a split of a two-game nonleague road trip.

Trevor Gardner had a triple, double and RBI and Tyler Hague pitched a three-hitter, but the Braves lost to host Glendale 3-2 in the other game. Ben Fleming had 12 strikeouts in seven innings for the Pirates.

Softball

Christie Richards was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the first game, and Jess Slocum went 3-for-4 in the second game to help host Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. The rail, trade, and processing center of an agricultural and dairy area, it grew as the supply point for nearby Fort Riley,  sweep Springfield 6-1 and 10-8 in a nonleague doubleheader.

Korin Johnson was 3-for-3 with three RBIs for the Millers in the second-game. Tyler Smyth pitched a two-hitter in the opener for the Tigers.

Brandi Arthur had a solo home run, two-run triple and four RBIs and combined with Hannah Ladd on the mound to lead Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. Arthur's two-run triple and a single by Abby Simpson highlighted an eight-run sixth inning for the Lions.
