Cortiva Group, the first spa services network in the United States, announced today that it has acquired the largest massage therapy school in NJ - the Somerset School of Massage Therapy. Cortiva has developed a competitive edge by owning and operating premier massage training schools as part of its vertical strategy. Since its establishment in 1987, the Somerset School of Massage Therapy has been a leader in the development of the massage therapy industry. The school, with a student body of 300 students, recently expanded to include three campuses, one each in Piscataway, Wall Townships and Dover. In 1991, it was the first massage school in New Jersey to be licensed by the New Jersey Department of Education, and received the highest national standard of accreditation for massage and bodywork schools in 1996.
