Corrigent Systems Announces Distribution Agreement With Netmarks for Japanese Market; Relationship to Establish the CM-100 as the Leading Packet ADM in the Japanese Market.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 2004

Corrigent Systems, a leading provider of packet-ADMs (Add Drop Multiplexer) for next-generation transport networks, today announced a distribution agreement with Netmarks Inc., one of Japan's leading distributors and systems integrators of optical transport and IP equipment. Under this agreement, Netmarks will provide sales, network design and planning, system integration and support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  for Corrigent's CM-100 family of products in the Japanese market.

"The market for high capacity data-optimized transport equipment is especially strong in Japan, where Ethernet service demand and deployments of fiber-to-the-home and VDSL See DSL.

have fueled the tremendous growth of high-bandwidth applications such as video-on-demand (VoD), IP Television and multimedia on demand," said Kazuhiko Shirai, Executive Officer, General Manager, Service Provider Solutions Division of Netmarks. "After a long evaluation of a number of products that address Ethernet and TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission.  metro transport services The collective functions of layers 1 through 4 of the OSI model. , we concluded that Corrigent's CM-100 product provides telecom carriers a superior infrastructure for delivering carrier class quality and cost effective services."

), the CM-100 is designed to be a vital building block in data-optimized metro networks.

"Japan's nationwide fiber to the premise build up accelerates the need to upgrade metro networks. Netmarks is an excellent partner for Corrigent to address this market," said Shane Eleniak, Vice President of Product Management and Sales of Corrigent Systems. "The customer base of Netmarks in Japan, nationwide service and support coverage and the complementary telecom equipment distribution relationships Netmarks provides, enables Corrigent to fully address the needs of Japanese carriers and rapidly expands Corrigent's presence in the Japanese market."
