Shannon, President and C.E.O. of Corriente Resources Inc. announces that the Company has granted stock options in the aggregate amount of 20,000 shares, at a price of $15.06 per share, exercisable for a period of three years. The options have been granted in accordance with the terms of the Company's stock option plan which has been approved by The Toronto Stock Exchange subject to approval by the shareholders at the upcoming annual general meeting on May 15th 1997.
