See Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE). :CTQ) Corriente Resources Inc. announces the appointment of a new member to the Board of Directors, Ms. Catherine McLeod-Seltzer. Ms. McLeod-Seltzer was most recently the President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. of Arequipa Resources Ltd. which was taken over in mid-1996 by Barrick Gold Corporation in a transaction valued in excess of CDN $1 Billion. As a key part of her involvement with Corriente, Ms. McLeod-Seltzer will help with the development of the Chama bulk-tonnage gold project in central Peru. The Company also announces that subject to acceptance by the applicable regulatory authorities, it has granted stock options in the aggregate amount of 120,000 shares at a price of $8.24 per share, exerciseable for a period of three years.
