Nichols 3, Univ. of New England 1: Sisters Lauren and Chelsea Correia scored to lead the third-seeded Bison past the second-seeded Nor'easters (13-3) in a CCC semifinal in Biddeford, Maine.

Nichols (17-3) will host fourth-seeded New England College in the championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Sophomore keeper Krista-Jean Forand made seven saves for the Bison, while junior keeper Ayla Nelson of Auburn stopped six shots for UNE.

MEN'S SOCCER

Clark 2, Coast Guard 1: Tim Donmez scored in the 21st minute, keeper Ryan King (eight saves) made three straight stops in the penalty kicks round, and the Cougars (13-9) upended the host Bears (8-9-1) in a NEWMAC quarterfinal.

Clark will face Wheaton in a semifinal at Babson at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

WPI 2, MIT 1: Kevin Ducharme scored his first goal of the season, a penalty kick with 2:26 left, to lift the Engineers (10-6-1) past MIT (8-9) in a NEWMAC quarterfinal.

Justin Hopkins scored in the 25th minute to tie the game for WPI, which will travel to Wellesley to face top-seeded Babson in a semifinal at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

MCLA 3, Worcester State 2: Sarah Connors had two assists, but the Lancers (9-6-3) fell to the visiting Trailblazers (14-4) in a MASCAC semifinal.

Danielle Clifford and Sarah Rafferty scored for WSC.

WNEC 2, Wentworth 0: Junior forward Heather Mortell of Webster had two assists and sophomore keeper Katherine Matthews of Northboro had seven saves for the host Golden Bears (10-8-2) in a CCC semifinal.
