Finally, "Topsy Turvy: In neutrons and protons, quarks take wrong turns" (SN: 1/3/04, p. 3) misidentified certain quarks within neutrons. The quarks that behaved as expected were down quarks, and the one that didn't was an up quark up quark n. Abbr. u A quark with a charge of + 2/3 and a mass about 607 times that of the electron.
