Spectra Inc. announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Spectra Products Inc., has filed a Canadian patent application with the Canadian Patent Office and an U.S. patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademarks Office for a visual brake stroke indicator. Applications were filed in each jurisdiction on February 20, 1997.

"These patent applications are the result of design evolution and modification to the Brake Safe(TM) visual brake stroke indicator system currently being manufactured and distributed in Canada by Spectra Products Inc.," stated Andrew Malion, Chairman of Spectra Inc.
