SAINTE-FOY, Quebec--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 1996-- RAYMOR (Alberta Stock Exchange RAR.) Raymor Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with COMIFA, S.A., a malian private company, for the acquisition of an 85 percent interest in the Yeremounde gold property, located within two kilometers West of the town of Kenieba, Mali, Western Africa. The Government of Mali has approved the granting of the licence on this 8 square km property as of November 28th 1996.

The terms of the acquisition include cash payments totalling about $150,000 Cdn in 4 payments over a 2 year period, the issuance of 150,000 common shares of Raymor Resources Ltd and a work commitment of about $450,000 Cdn. The agreement is subject to the approval by the regulatory bodies.

The Yeremounde property is favorably located within a Birrimian volcano-sedimentary belt. These rocks are intruded by granite, granodiorite and kimberlite pipes controlled by major faults tending North to N 20 degrees E. The most important one, the senegalo-malian shear is traced over a distance of 180 km in the center of the valley. It controls the emplacement of the known gold deposits in the valley, namely to the North: the Sadiola orebody that just entered into production (4.5M oz. at 2.5 g./t.); the Loulo deposit (360,000 oz. at 5.05 g./t.), in the immediate Baroya sector, the Segala (smaller than 1.0M oz. at 2.8 g./t.) and the Nevson's Tabakoto gold deposit on which the company is completing a resource calculation; and to the South, the Medinandi deposit (over 225,000 oz. at 5 g./t. to a depth of 50 meters).

The Yeremounde property encloses a mineralized structure trending North to N 20 degrees E and several kilometers in length, the Southern 120 meters of which has been explored. That sub-vertical structure corresponds to a shear zone invaded by mineralized quartz veins and venilets some 10 meters exposed width. The wall rocks are also gold bearing, highly altered, with sulphide casts and could be meta-tuffs or acidic volcanics. The average grade of all samples collected on surface and in 7 pits dug to a depth of about 20 meters average 11.6 g./t. Individual assays in quartz samples range between a low of 1.65 g./t. to a high of 65.15 g./t. and a maximum reading of 152 g./t. in the wall rocks. Since the recent gold discovery, traditional artisanal mining of gold has developped in the overlying eluvium.

Reconnaissance geological and geochemical surveys are on going in order to better define the extansions of the mineralized structure. As of early 1997, Raymor Resources Ltd will undertake an initial program in filling geological, geochemistry, geophysical (magnetic and I.P.) surveys and some tranching.
