Corps of Engineers to Honor Hunter Education Deferral Offered by Texas Parks and Wildlife.


FORT WORTH, Texas Fort Worth is the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas, 18th-largest city in the United States[1], and voted one of "America’s Most Livable Communities.  -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that it will honor the new "Hunter Education Deferral deferral - Waiting for quiet on the Ethernet. " offered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is a Texas state agency that oversees and protects wildlife and their habitats. In addition, the agency is responsible for managing the state's parks and historical areas. . For the purchase price of $10.00, hunters 17 or older may obtain a deferral that becomes effective Sept. 1, 2004. This deferral allows a hunter who has not completed a hunter education program to defer completion for up to one year and is only valid until the end of the current license year. The deferral may only be obtained one time. Hunters 12 or older must have proof of completing a hunter education course or accompanied by a permitted adult 18 years of age or older. This change will affect District lakes that require a permit to hunt. These lakes are Bardwell, Belton, Benbrook, Georgetown, Grapevine, Lewisville, O.C. Fisher, Proctor, Somerville, Stillhouse Hollow, Waco, Whitney, and Wright Patman John William Wright Patman (August 6, 1893–March 7, 1976) was a U.S. Congressman from Texas and chair of the United States House Committee on Banking and Currency.

Patman was born in Cass County, Texas.
