Rita caused $11.3 billion in damage on the U.S. Gulf Coast in September 2005. , by pre-positioning personnel and equipment. The Corps is continuing to closely monitor the path of the upcoming storm. They include Requirement Contracts for Ice and Water and Requirement Contracts with Indefinite Delivery -- Indefinite Quantity options for Debris Removal/ Reduction, Temporary Power and Temporary Roofing. These competitively awarded contracts will be in effect until November 2007, with the exception of the Ice contract which will expire in November 2005.
