Company description: dNET Online Services Inc. was founded in 1994 by Russell Perkins, Matthew Perkins, and Roxanne Christensen, all formerly with Morgan-Rand Inc., a company that had been the central source of information on the directory publishing industry.

Following the sale of most Morgan-Rand assets to SIMBA Information Inc., dNET was launched with the mission of providing a low-cost, high visibility central site on the Internet for directory publishers that could be used both to sell print and CD-ROM directory products, and also deliver database information either in report or mailing list formats, instantaneously for a fee.

Launched in 1995, dNET Online Services Inc. was initially funded through the prestigious Ben Franklin Technology Center. This funding was supplemented by a second round of investment by a private investor in mid-1996. dNET's growth was further accelerated in 1996 after completion of a strategic alliance with Milex Data Corp., a London-based service provider to the European directory community.
