Company description: Xencor is a start-up biotechnology company founded in August 1997 that is commercializing Protein Design Automation (PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) A handheld computer for managing contacts, appointments and tasks. It typically includes a name and address database, calendar, to-do list and note taker, which are the functions in a personal information manager (see PIM). ), a research platform for de novo protein design. Xencor's dedicated research facilities in Pasadena include a molecular biology laboratory and a state-of-the-art computational lab with a parallel supercomputer from Silicon Graphics/Cray Research capable of more than 14 billion operations per second. Xencor has ongoing collaborations with investigators at City of Hope National Medical Center City of Hope is one of 39 NCI-designated Cancer Centers and is located in the city of Duarte, California.
