It currently serves roughly 320,000 customers in 17 municipalities in the Greater Bridgeport, New Haven, and Lower Naugatuck Valley regions. The service area, largely urban and suburban in character, includes the principal cities of Bridgeport and New Haven and their surrounding municipalities: Ansonia, Bridgeport, Derby, East Haven East Haven, town (1990 pop. 26,144), New Haven co., S Conn., on Long Island Sound, a residential suburb of New Haven, in a farm area; inc. 1785.
