Redbird Communications' founders, David Redberg and Dennis Doherty, have a combined total of about 35 years of telecommunications experience:

David began his career at Bell Laboratories in 1985 working on new service concepts for AT&T's Intelligent Network. He holds several major patents for AT&T tariffed services resulting from this work. Serving as a systems engineer and architect for all major OSS product lines at Lucent, he was responsible for designing and managing the delivery of integrated OSS solutions. While at AT&T, David consulted with major service providers, including Time Warner Communications and McCaw Cellular. At Lucent Technologies, David worked as director of software integration, where he managed large-scale integration and development projects for major foreign and domestic operators. Before co-founding Redbird Communications, David was senior vice president in charge of OSS architecture, development and integration, and corporate IT operations at the Global TeleExchange. There, he created a unique, integrated web-based order entry, usage accounting and flow-through provisioning system that defined the operational advantage of the company. David has written numerous articles for professional publications and conferences, and contributed to texts on information modeling, and software integration and reuse. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University and an M.S.M.E from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Dennis started his career at Bell Laboratories in 1981. He's worked in a wide variety of roles, mostly centered on the creation and delivery of transport network management solutions. He was responsible for project management and systems engineering for AT&T's internal restoration and provisioning system, and for the DACScan network controller. Through collaborations with France Telecom and TINA-C, he was a key contributor to the work in network modeling and protocol development that ultimately led to the TMF CORBA standards. Later, he was responsible for directing the product management team for Lucent's Optical Networking Group suite of core transport network management systems. Dennis has been a frequent contributor to industry conferences and publications and co-authored Achieving Global Information Networking, published by Artech House in 1999. Dennis holds an M.S.E. degree in computer science from Princeton University.
