EPOC/16 comprises a sophisticated, ROM-based multi-tasking operating system, graphical user interace components and a fast, low-power hardware architecture. The world-beating Psion Series 3, 3a, 3c, Siena, HC and Workabout are based on EPOC/16 technology, and a comprehensive set of development tools is available from Psion for writing EPOC/16 applications.

Psion Software PLC recently announced a Rapid Application Development environment for their EPOC/16 platform. OVAL (Object-based Visual Application Language) is a Microsoft Visual Basic-compatible development environment and runs under Windows on a PC.
