Company description: Language Studies Abroad, Inc. (LSA) is a privately held Nevada corporation. LSA was started in 1985 by Charlene Biddulph in response to the growing importance of fluency in foreign languages in a global economy.

She recognized that well managed total immersion courses provide the most effective means of acquiring a real working knowledge of a foreign language.

In 1999 Chris Cote acquired LSA. In order to better serve clients' needs, Cote added 28 schools in seven countries during 1999. This expansion brought the number of programs from which clients can choose to a total of 43 sponsor schools in 14 countries. The countries in which students can now study include Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Switzerland.
