Frontier Cellular has interests in 16 cellular properties in six states. All together, its wireless operations serve over 5.5 million people. The company is also a 50/50 partner with NYNEX in an upstate New York cellular supersystem, which serves a population of over four million.

For 1994, the company reported revenues of $985 million, net income of $103 million and earnings per share of $1.40. The company had 4,240 employees at year-end 1994.
