Company description: Elbit Vision Systems Ltd. ("EVS EVS European Voluntary Service EVS Environmental Science EVS Electric Vehicle Symposium EVS Enhanced Vision System EVS environmental studies EVS European Values Study EVS Electronic Verification System EVS Extreme Voltage Shutdown ") designs, develops, manufactures, markets and supports automatic visual inspection and quality monitoring systems for the textile and other fabric industries. EVS' systems are designed to increase the accuracy, consistency and speed of the detection of defects in the manufacturing process of fabrics in order to reduce labor costs, improve product quality and increase manufacturing efficiency. EVS currently markets four product lines designed to address the quality monitoring needs of different sectors within the fabric manufacturing industry: I-TEX, for the visual inspection and quality monitoring of woven A woven is a cloth formed by weaving. It only stretches in the Bias directions (between the warp and weft directions), unless the threads are elastic. Woven cloth usually frays at the edges, unless measures are taken to counter this, such as the use of pinking shears or hemming. and knitted fabrics Knitted fabrics are the third major class of fabric, after woven and nonwoven fabrics. Elasticity, thickness and warmth Compared to the other two classes, knitted fabrics are much more elastic, which accounts for their historical use in stockings and other clothing that requires ; PRIN-TEX, for the detection of printing defects on fabrics; Broken Filaments Analyzer analyzer /ana·ly·zer/ (an´ah-li?zer) 1. a Nicol prism attached to a polarizing apparatus which extinguishes the ray of light polarized by the polarizer. 2. EVS also intends to adapt its core visual interpretation technologies for other applications, such as those in the non-woven fabric and printing industries, which have visual inspection and quality monitoring needs similar to those of the fabric industry. EVS has sold over 240 visual inspection systems to leading fabric manufacturers worldwide. EVS is actively working on making fabric inspection by I-TEX systems, and the corresponding labeling of the inspected fabric as "I-TEX Inspected", an industry standard for fabric quality monitoring. These efforts include working with leading clothing manufacturers. EVS commenced independent commercial operations on January January: see month. 1, 1994, as a subsidiary of Elbit Ltd. Prior to that date, the business of EVS was operated as a division of Elbit.
