), founded in 1982, has lead the PC market in the development of connectivity products for electronic mail. For 14 years, CMS has provided state-of-the-art solutions for LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  e-mail systems, with the Internet/SMTP, and with public messaging services.

CMS has always been at the forefront of messaging connectivity. In 1984, the company developed the first U.S. Postal Service The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) processes and delivers mail to individuals and businesses within the United States. The service seeks to improve its performance through the development of efficient mail-handling systems and operates its own planning and engineering programs.  PC product for the creation and delivery of electronic to paper mail messaging. In 1986, CMS became the "Father of LAN E-mail Gateways" when it developed the CMSLink technology and licensed it to 3COM (1) (Computer Output Microfilm) Creating microfilm or microfiche from the computer. A COM machine receives print-image output from the computer either online or via tape or disk and creates a film image of each page.  for incorporation into 3+Reach Mail for connecting to MCI Mail, creating the first ever electronic mail gateway. From that point forward, CMS has been the first to develop gateways for Lotus Notes, Novell MHS (1) (Message Handling Service) An earlier messaging system from Novell that supported multiple operating systems and other messaging protocols, including SMTP, SNADS and X.400. It used the SMF-71 messaging format. , and Banyan VINES.

CMS's leadership extends to product delivery, technical, and industry innovation. CMS's Novell MHS gateway was used by other software developers as the MHS reference standard. Most recently, CMS became the first vendor to have a Windows NT SendMail replacement built into an electronic mail gateway.

CMS has been recognized by the industry as a knowledgeable and reliable development company. Later, it was recruited to take over the development and support of the Microsoft Mail-to-MCI gateway code. In 1994, the company received the coveted cov·et
