The piece is positioned outside One Gateway Exchange, a five-story, 125,000 square foot Class A office building located at the Columbia Gateway business community in Columbia, MD near MD Route 175 and Interstate 95. Pennsylvania-based artist Rob Fisher, who designed and created the artwork, and Howard County Howard County is the name of seven counties in the United States of America:

The building is part of Corporate Office Properties' fifteen-building portfolio at Columbia Gateway, comprising more than one million square feet of space. The Company also owns a contiguous 9.6 acre site that can support two additional 125,000 square foot buildings.

"Dihedrals" is positioned in the traffic circle area that will service, upon completion of construction, these three Class A office buildings.

"Dihedrals" is composed of four separate masts, connected by three large wing-like forms that appear to be taking off in formation. The metallic gold feathers, which comprise these forms, consist of more than 5,500 parts fabricated fab·ri·cate

"This is Corporate Office Properties' second original exterior sculpture - joining the acclaimed `Trinity' at The National Business Park - which reflects our commitment to creating outstanding business park environments," stated Randall M. Griffin, President and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

"The geometry of the wings, along with the precise arrangement of the masts, will create a natural symmetry with the three office buildings," explained Rob Fisher. "Our challenge was to produce a dramatic piece that not only complements the single-building that currently exists, but one that will serve as an icon for the three buildings in the future. The head-on view of `Dihedrals," seen as one approaches the site, provides the most dense and powerful perspective, with its stark procession of the wings. Viewed from the side, the large wings appear to delicately float within the framework of the masts," he added.

In addition to these two original sculptures, the Company purchased seven "Fish out of Water" pieces, which were part of the collection of 180 finned finned
