"Closing on these office buildings is opportunistic for the Company. This portfolio represents (i) a highly accretive transaction as of the closing date, (ii) a value-add opportunity given the significant discount to replacement cost (estimated to be 75% of current replacement cost) and current leasing level, and (iii) a strategic opportunity to expand in Baltimore County, given the close proximity to our existing assets where we have a property management team in place," stated Randall M. Griffin, President and Chief Executive Officer for Corporate Office Properties Trust. "We continue to look for acquisitions where we can buy assets below replacement cost and create value over time through additional leasing and property management," he added.
