Corporate Counsel Survey Projects Slight Decrease in Spending by Fortune 1000 Corporations on Outside Counsel in 2007.

Other findings include the following:

* Respondents' companies spent an average of $18 Million on outside law firm services over the past 12 months, but estimate spending for the coming 12 months at an average of $17 Million.

* Respondent In Equity practice, the party who answers a bill or other proceeding in equity. The party against whom an appeal or motion, an application for a court order, is instituted and who is required to answer in order to protect his or her interests.  companies that employ 400 or more in-house attorneys spent significantly more on outside law firm services over the past twelve months, averaging almost $28 million.

* More than 80 percent of all respondents named Corporate Counsel as the legal or business magazine they read most regularly. Corporate Counsel was also selected by the group as the most useful magazine for keeping abreast of legal issues of interest.
