Corovin forms Thai venture.


The 25th largest roll goods producer in the world, Corovin GmbH, Peine, Germany, continued its aggressive global expansion strategy with a joint venture agreement recently signed in Thailand. The agreement, which was forged between Corovin, Charoen Pokphand The Charoen Pokphand Group is the largest business conglomerate in Thailand. Its chief subsidiary is Charoen Pokphand Foods, which did 116.5 billion baht in revenue in 2005, earning a profit of 6.747 billion baht.  - a subsidiary of the OP Group, a large Thai industrial group-and NEP NEP: see New Economic Policy.  Realty and Industry Company, a financial investor group, establishes a nonwoven non·wo·ven

CNC - Collaborative Networked Communication
 International, will produce and distribute nonwoven fabric for disposable applications such as medical, agricultural and industrial markets. Charoen Pokphand holds 51% of the venture, with the other two parties holding 24.5%.

According to industry sources, nonwovens for the venture are currently being supplied from Europe, but plans are to begin production in Thailand as soon as possible. Charoen Pokphand is also heavily involved in the Chinese market and CNC will reportedly expand into that area as well.
