Coronado Industries Updates Status of Italian Clinical Trial For PNT; Protocol Approved by Ethical Committees at All Study Sites.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. -- Coronado Industries Inc. (OTC BB: CDIK), the manufacturers of unique proprietary pneumatic devices for the non-invasive treatment of glaucoma, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Ophthalmic International, provided an update today on the status of the clinical trial being performed by Eupharmed, s.r.l., the company's Italian distribution partner, as required under their existing agreement.

At the current time, the clinical study protocol has been approved by the ethical committees at all five glaucoma centers to which it was submitted. Patients are being enrolled and treated at this time.

The study -- involving approximately 120 patients not adequately controlled on current pharmaceutical therapies -- serves multiple purposes. The study and protocol were designed to fulfill some of the FDA requirements needed for approval in the U.S. market. The data generated during the study will also provide additional information for doctors and patients on the importance of PNT in the treatment of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and ocular hypertension.

Glaucoma is a chronic disease for which there is no known cure. Poor IOP control is thought to be one of the leading factors in the progressive loss of vision experienced by patients with POAG. The long-term management of a patient's IOP should lead to better visual outcomes for these patients. Eupharmed is responsible for the costs of the trial. Coronado Industries has the right to use the information to support the marketing activities of their other distribution partners and for registration purposes in the United States and elsewhere.
