, Ophthalmic International, provided an update today on the status of the clinical trial being performed by Eupharmed, s.r.l., the company's Italian distribution partner, as required under their existing agreement.

At the current time, the clinical study protocol has been approved by the ethical committees at all five glaucoma centers to which it was submitted. Patients are being enrolled and treated at this time.

The study -- involving approximately 120 patients not adequately controlled on current pharmaceutical therapies -- serves multiple purposes. The study and protocol were designed to fulfill some of the FDA FDA
