Cornucopia Resources announces near completion of Mineral Ridge Mine.


VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 9, 1997-- Cornucopia cornucopia (kôr'nykō`pēə), in Greek mythology, magnificent horn that filled itself with whatever meat or drink its owner requested.  Resources Ltd., announces that construction of the Mineral Ridge Mine has been fully funded and is close to completion, with the first gold pour anticipated by the early June.

The final Hollister Mine reclamation Mine reclamation is the process of creating useful landscapes that meet a variety of goals, typically creating productive ecosystems (or sometimes industrial or municipal land) from mined land.  plan prepared by Newmont has been submitted to the Bureau of Land Management for approval. This has paved the way for bringing in a new partner to replace Newmont as operator of the joint venture to explore the West Hollister and Hatter areas. The proposed terms of the revised arrangement are favorable to Cornucopia and should permit an early resumption of the deep drilling programs which encountered several high grade intercepts in 1994 and which have still to be followed up.
