 Tookes to its board of directors. Tookes, executive vice president of Raytheon Company and chairman and chief executive officer of Raytheon Aircraft Company, would stand for election at Corning's annual meeting of shareholders on June 21, 2001.

Tookes, 53, joined Raytheon in September 1999 as president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
