Corning Incorporated Announces Long-Term Optical Fiber Supply Agreement with Condumex.

CORNING, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1997--Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) today announced a long-term supply agreement with Condumex, the largest manufacturer of optical fiber cable in Mexico. Under the terms of the agreement, Corning becomes Condumex's supplier of optical fiber which will be deployed in telecommunications applications in Mexico, throughout Latin America and other export markets. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed. This agreement represents the first formalized long-term supply arrangement between the two companies who have been working together since 1983. Condumex was formed over 40 years ago and does business throughout Mexico, USA, Canada, in Latin American countries including the Mercosur countries, Colombia, Chile and Venezuela, and in Southeast Asia.
