Corning Incorporated Announces Appointment.


CORNING, N.Y., June June: see month.  7--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wendell P. Weeks was today named vice president, deputy general manager-Telecommunications Products Division, Corning Incorporated Corning Incorporated NYSE: GLW is an American manufacturer of glass, ceramics and related materials, primarily for industrial and scientific applications. The company was known until 1989 as Corning Glass Works. .

Weeks, 36, will have responsibility for the worldwide commercial operations of the optical fiber business and will report to Robert C. Forrest, senior vice president and general manager of the division.

For the past two years, Weeks has been general manager-Components Product Business and director-External Development for the Opto- opto- or opt-

Weeks joined Corning in 1983 in the Controllers Division and later served as manager of corporate business development. In 1990 he became business manager-Worldwide Video Products and in 1992 was named director of external development for the Opto-Electronics Group.

Weeks holds a B.S. degree from Lehigh University Lehigh University, at Bethlehem, Pa.; coeducational; chartered and opened 1866 by Asa Packer. It has undergraduate colleges of arts and science, business and economics, and engineering and applied science, as well as several graduate programs.  (1981) and attended Harvard Business School Harvard Business School, officially named the Harvard Business School: George F. Baker Foundation, and also known as HBS, is one of the graduate schools of Harvard University.  as a Baker Scholar receiving an M.B.A. in 1987
