) announced today that several global business leaders are moving to new roles. Eric S. Musser is appointed general manager, Greater China; Martin J. Curran is elected senior vice president and general manager, Corning Optical Fiber; Clark S. Kinlin is appointed chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Eric S. Musser joined Corning in 1986 and has held a variety of roles in manufacturing, strategic planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people. , and quality. For the past two years, he has served as vice president and general manager of Corning Optical Fiber. In this role, he has been instrumental in the significant financial improvement of the division. Martin J. Curran joined Corning in 1987 and has held a variety of roles in finance, sales and marketing. Since 2000, he has served as senior vice president and general manager for Corning Cable Systems' hardware and equipment operations in the Americas. Marty has played a significant role in the introduction of new products for the fiber-to-the-home and public and private telecommunications networks markets.

Clark S. Kinlin joined Corning in 1981 and has held leadership roles in a variety of global organizations, including Telecommunications Products, Consumer Products and Corning International. In 2003 he was appointed general manager, Corning China. Over the past four years, he has led the growth of Corning's businesses in China.

Stuart E. Hoiness joined Corning in 1996 and has held a variety of roles in sales, marketing and product management. Since 2002, he has served as vice president of global product management for Corning Cable Systems' hardware and equipment organization and has been instrumental in the growth of the business.

The leaders will transition into their new roles over the next several months, with all changes effective by Sept. 30.
