Both sides opened the game in impressive fashion and a fast early pace saw a number of half chances created at either end. But with defences dominating the game, the first clear cut opportunity didn't arrive until just before half-time, Essemmay's Gary Tottey having to clear off the line to leave the sides level at the interval.
