side Pilkington FC are the new holders of the LCFA Saturday Junior Cup, but they were made to battle all the way for their 2-0 victory at Liverpool Soccer Centre by I-Zingari League opponents Essemmay OB.

Both sides opened the game in impressive fashion and a fast early pace saw a number of half chances created at either end.

But with defences dominating the game, the first clear cut opportunity didn't arrive until just before half-time, Essemmay's Gary Tottey having to clear off the line to leave the sides level at the interval.

Pilkington finally made the breakthrough five minutes into the first period of extra time, Paul Piert converting from close range after his initial shot had been saved.
