Corinthian: Battling Stocks push Halton Arms all the way; Warrington Sunday.

HALTON ARMS had t o pull out all the stops to see off the challenge of an inspired Stocks side and reach the final of the Denis Scholes Challenge Trophy.

Goals from Tony Erikson (2) and Mike Maloney proved just enough to help their side recover from a two goal deficit to secure a 3-2extra time victory. The other semi-final was a more one-sided affair, doubles from Craig Jones and Gary Edwards giving Carrs Hotel a 5-1 decision over Causeway.

A last minute decider gave Lowton Borough narrow 4-3 win over Pierpoints in the Premier Division, and in Division One, Real Gate (Mike Scully 3) remain on course for the title after accounting for FC Lion 3-1.

Mike Bramhall struck four times in Wilkies' 8-1 thrashing of Dog & Dart, while two goals from Gareth Chadwick earned Grange Hawthorne a 2-1 win over Callands in Division Two.

Ridgeway Park's 4-2 defeat of FC Crosfields included two goals from Dave Willy.

And the pick of the action in Division Three saw John Smith contribute a hat-trick in General Electronique's 6-3 dismissal of Victoria Kings Park
