Coresoft Technologies, Inc., a software development company providing Intelligent Communication(TM) technology, today unveiled its Coresoft Authorized Reseller (CAR) partnership program.

The program provides advantages and innovative business opportunities for value-added resellers (VARs) involved in sales and marketing of CenterPoint(TM), Coresoft's newly released computer telephony integration Computer Telephony Integration - Computer Telephone Integration  (CTI) client-server application for businesses and workgroups.

"We have created a program which empowers VARs to take advantage of the $2.25 billion CTI industry and grow with it, which Dataquest is forecasting will be an $8 billion market by the turn of the century," said John White, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Coresoft. "In addition to offering a fully integrated CTI solution, we provide resellers the necessary support to help them succeed in this new high growth CTI market."

Coresoft's CAR program provides several unique benefits which distinguish it from other companies' VAR relationships. A CAR receives professionally designed computer-based training See CBT.

(application) Computer-Based Training - (CBT) Training (of humans) done by interaction with a computer. The programs and data used in CBT are known as "courseware."

. Once the CAR demonstrates a reasonable level of proficiency as determined by encrypted scores generated from the interactive CD-ROM, they attend hands-on, technical lab training and certification at Coresoft headquarters in Utah or at other company affiliates throughout the country.

Certification includes installation and support training for CenterPoint and a third party telephony enabled telephone system. Coresoft will also provide initial launch CARs on-site sales training and co-host end-user seminars. Through these efforts targeted at the reseller's specific customer base, each CAR receives the sales and presentation tools necessary to initiate and close sales. Coresoft will also mount an aggressive marketing campaign focused on the customer, and resulting sales leads will be passed along to CAR partners.

CAR Program benefits summary:

"Telephony technology is rapidly changing and Coresoft is emerging as the leader in CTI with its product CenterPoint," said Greg Franklin, Web Developer for LinkLINE, one of Coresoft's first CARs. "CenterPoint's flexible architecture, based on open standards Specifications for hardware and software that are developed by a standards organization or a consortium involved in supporting a standard. Available to the public for developing compliant products, open standards imply "open systems;" that an existing component in a system can be replaced , makes it the best and most affordable CTI application on the market. We see CenterPoint as a totally new channel of opportunity."

CenterPoint creates Intelligent Communication by integrating and extending the capabilities of the telephone and computer. One convenient, drag and drop A graphical user interface (GUI) capability that lets you perform operations by moving the icon of an object with the mouse into another window or onto another icon. For example, files can be copied or moved by dragging them from one folder to another.  graphical interface See GUI.  provides the user advanced telephone options of call forwarding, paging, conferencing, call transferring, call screening, caller ID and voice mail. The same window also allows a user to administer E-mail, fax, broadcast fax, a contact manager and Internet browsing.

While talking on the phone, CenterPoint will notify the user of an incoming call with an on-screen on·screen or on-screen

, caller ID, pop-up window. Users can then determine whether they should take the call, put the call on hold, send it to voice mail, conference the call or send the caller an important document via fax or email all by simply dragging and dropping icons. The software adds intelligence to the interaction between these devices by allowing the user to define intelligent processes and rules.

CenterPoint eliminates the need for expensive and complicated telephone handsets by transferring phone functionality to the computer screen where it is easily administered and meshed with commonly used business communications tools through a single, easy-to-use interface.

This unique client-server application, based on open standards and component architecture, will integrate with many existing communications tools, such as email (any MAPI-based system), Internet browser (Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer See Internet Explorer. ), a contact manager (Symantec Act!) and voice mail (several commonly available products).
