OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1999--

Corel Corporation (company) Corel Corporation - A software publisher best known for the CorelDraw application. Founded in June 1985 by Dr. Michael Cowpland, Corel Corporation was originally a systems integration company.  (Nasdaq:COSFF) (TSE See Tokyo Stock Exchange.

:COS.) is pleased to announce that the Corel eStore(tm) (shop.corel.com) has a new look, improved functionality and several brand-new products. Corel eStore is Corel's online shopping mall, which offers award-winning software, access to clipart image collections, exclusive high-end premium photos, illustrations, vector clipart images, stock photos and more. Customers can shop 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in a convenient, secure, electronic setting.

Corel recently signed a deal with ShopNow.com to include ShopNow.com's technology in Corel eStore. The inclusion of this technology means that Corel eStore is a much easier shopping experience. There is a sendable shopping cart which enables users to send the contents of their basket to someone else for approval or purchase (this is great for gift suggestions); new technology streamlining the purchase process; Boolean searches with and across multiple categories to help users find the images they need faster; order tracking and confirmation by email; and faster load times.

"ShopNow.com has provided Corel with the latest and greatest technology for Corel eStore," said Jim Orban, Corel's executive vice president of sales and marketing. "We ran the site through customer usability testing Usability testing is a means for measuring how well people can use some human-made object (such as a web page, a computer interface, a document, or a device) for its intended purpose, i.e. usability testing measures the usability of the object.  and focused on customer feedback to improve the overall shopping experience."

Improving the online shopping experience is exactly what ShopNow.com strives to do. "We are pleased to be able to demonstrate our capabilities and technology by helping Corel relaunch an improved eStore," said Dwayne Walker, president and chief executive officer of ShopNow.com. "Corel eStore is an excellent example of the end-to-end solution (jargon) end-to-end solution - (E2ES) A term that suggests that the supplier of an application program or system will provide all the hardware and/or software components and resouces to meet the customer's requirement and no other supplier need be involved.
