- Orbits, Image Sprayer and Brush Symmetry: Orbits in Corel PHOTO-PAINT(TM) 8 allow users to define brush nibs as a series of points that adjust relative to each other and orbit around the original nib point. When combined with orbits, amazing painted three-dimensional effects can be created.

, JPEG, QuickTime(TM), and Macintosh(R) PICT is also included.

- Internet Capabilities: CorelDRAW 8 includes comprehensive Internet capabilities that allow users to create content for the World Wide Web with support for popular Internet image formats such as GIF, PNG (Portable Network Graphics) A bitmapped graphics file format endorsed by the World Wide Web Consortium. It is expected to eventually replace the GIF format, because there are lingering legal problems with GIFs. , and JPEG, Internet Form Objects, QuickTime(TM) movies and Java(TM) applets and Image Map creation.

- Professional Output: Users can expect exceptional PostScript(R) compatibility between CorelDRAW 8 and PostScript printer drivers, as well as existing and future PostScript printers.

- Color Capabilities: CorelDRAW 8 uses the industry standard Kodak Digital Science(TM) Color Management System Software that translates the colors of an original image into the truest representation obtainable on the output device. Color management works from a profile of the output device, typically a digital printer or offset press, and works backward to the source of the material such as a  and standard ICC profiles to ensure accurate color representation during scanning, on screen, and when printing. Support for embedded profiles in RGB (Red Green Blue) The computer's native color space, which is the color system for capturing and displaying images. RGB was derived from our own perception of color because human eyes are sensitive to red, green and blue (see trichromaticity).  TIFF images upon import is also provided and allows users to design in the color space in which the image was originally created.
