Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CORL) (TSE:COR) today announces the worldwide availability of Corel(R) DESIGNER(TM) 9, the company's flagship technical illustration package.

Added to Corel's product line since the acquisition of Micrografx in October 2001, Corel DESIGNER 9 has been updated to facilitate the smooth integration of Designer into a technical graphics workflow alongside the company's best-selling creative package, CorelDRAW.

Corel DESIGNER 9 provides users with the ability to annotate drawings with associative dimension lines and callouts and to create schematics and diagrams with sticky lines. Boolean Operations allow users to join, fragment, slice and contour objects, while drawing tools that are similar to those in AutoCAD let users trim, extend and bevel objects. By choosing from a comprehensive selection of line styles, users can represent a variety of materials, from zippers and stitches to wiring and air conduits. Calling attention to important details with the Magnification Lens, users add a close-up view of any area of drawings.

Corel DESIGNER 9 supports Windows XP and leverages Microsoft Installer for improved network installation for flexible enterprise deployment.

Micrografx Designer 9 registered customers will be able to download a free update from www.corel.com that provides the full functionality of Corel DESIGNER 9. The update will be available for download in April.

English versions of Corel DESIGNER 9 are available now at a suggested retail price of US $449 and an upgrade price of US $225. French and German language versions will be available in April, with the Japanese version available in May.
