Digital's Alpha-based Personal Workstations running Windows NT offer low total cost of ownership, price/performance, scalability and investment protection for media content creators. Customers are offered a range of choices to meet performance needs, with a highly scalable workstation design that can support true desktop publishing desktop publishing, system for producing printed materials that consists of a personal computer or computer workstation, a high-resolution printer (usually a laser printer), and a computer program that allows the user to select from a variety of type fonts and sizes,  applications.

Digital is scheduled to begin rolling out Alpha NT-based workstations with Corel's new Alpha-enabled CorelDRAW 8 in early 1998. Over the next few months, Corel will release two versions of its popular CorelDRAW 8 software - the standard release which will be maximized for Intel's MMX (MultiMedia EXtensions) A set of 57 additional instructions built into the Pentium MMX chip for improved multimedia and modem performance by performing mathematical operations on multiple sets of data at the same time (see SIMD). (TM) technology and one which will be maximized for Digital's Alpha chip. Localized Alpha versions of CorelDRAW 8 will be available shortly after the localized MMX versions are made available.
