Under the agreement EBIZ will pre-load Corel(R) WordPerfect(R) 8 for Linux(R) Personal Edition onto its Element-L computer systems and the PIA (Personal Internet Appliance Also called "information appliance," "smart appliance," and "Web appliance," it is a device specialized for accessing the Web and/or e-mail. Designed for ease of use, it plugs into a telephone jack or LAN connection for Internet hookup. ).

They are leading the market in providing a range of user-friendly Linux-based desktop applications, including the upcoming release of their flagship WordPerfect Office A suite of office applications for Windows from Corel that includes WordPerfect, Quattro Pro, Corel Presentations, Paradox and CorelCENTRAL (PIM, scheduling, etc.). It is the successor to Corel WordPerfect Suite, which was the successor to Corel Office.  2000," stated Jeffrey Rassas, founder and chief executive officer of EBIZ.

The Element-L product line includes several configurations of desktop and notebook computers, workstations, servers and Alpha(TM) computer systems, all priced with the spirit of Linux in mind. Corel WordPerfect 8 for Linux delivers the same word-processing capabilities as the Windows(R) version, plus has many features available only for Linux. New and enhanced features include extended Internet publishing capabilities, grammar and spelling tools, charting and drawing features, table enhancements, and revision tracking.

Corel also announced in March its plans to introduce a user-friendly, simple to install graphical interface for the Linux Operating System later this year. Corel(R) LINUX(R) will create ease of use for consumers of all levels. Also in the same time-frame, Corel is on track to deliver a Linux version of their new flagship release, WordPerfect(R) Office 2000.
