All-In-One Universal Player Provides OEMs with Fast, Easy Way to Turn PC/CE Devices into Home Entertainment Centers

LAS VEGAS -- Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL) (TSX:CRE), a leading provider of digital media software, today announced the launch of its new InterVideo[R] brand WinCinema[R], a fully integrated, standalone 10-foot interface style solution for watching TV and videos, playing music, viewing photos and listening to radio broadcasts. With WinCinema, OEMs and system integrators can quickly and cost-effectively enhance their Vista and XP-based products with entertainment features that will appeal to consumers with every level of experience. Corel[R] will demonstrate how WinCinema turns a PC/CE device such as a desktop or notebook PC, TV Tuner, or optical drive into a home entertainment center at its CES Booth #35377 in the South Hall this week.

InterVideo WinCinema is a fully integrated, standalone product that seamlessly combines all digital entertainment playback features in a single application. It is ideal for providing Windows Media Center Edition (MCE) features on Windows[R] Vista[TM] Home Basic and XP-based products where MCE capabilities are not pre-bundled. For Vista Premium systems, which do include MCE, WinCinema also includes a set of MCE plug-ins to provide additional valuable features such as HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc playback, TV support, DVD authoring, and real-time MPEG-2 encoding.

For OEM customers, a single release of WinCinema can address their needs for systems with Vista Home Basic and systems with Vista Premium. The same product can also be released on XP Embedded systems to provide InstantON functionality.

What sets WinCinema apart from other software applications is its universal support. WinCinema is a universal player with universal content source and format support. Using Vista's fully customizable Avalon (WPF) GUI and WinCinema's support for the CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD formats, users can move easily from playing music and videos to viewing photo slideshows and watching TV. Major TV broadcast formats are supported, including analog, ATSC, DVB-T, and DVB-S. WinCinema is capable of playing back multimedia content from UPnP media server devices on a digital home network. IMCSVR, a DLNA-certified media server software bundled with WinCinema, can also be used to manage and stream digital entertainment content from a PC to other UPnP-connected devices throughout the user's digital home network.
