Coreco forms alliance to distribute machine vision software -- Coreco and U.S. Integral Vision to benefit from increased revenues.


MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 1997--CORECO (ME;TSE:CRC.) Coreco Inc. today announced a joint distribution agreement with U.S.-based Integral Vision, a division of publicly traded Medar Inc., to market the U.S. company's VisionBox machine vision software. The arrangement is expected to generate over US$3.5 million for each company over the next few years.

VisionBox is a 32 bit vision-specific OCX software library, which simplifies and accelerates the development of custom vision applications by taking advantage of Microsoft's Visual Basic C++ programming environments.

Coreco President and Chief Executive Officer Keith A. Reuben stated the partnership includes support for Coreco's computer vision hardware, allowing machine vision developers to set new price-performance standards. "We intend to further develop this new relationship through cooperative sales, marketing and engineering endeavors."

Integral Vision is a leading supplier of machine vision systems and applications development software used to ensure product quality by monitoring and controlling the manufacturing process. Integral Vision is a division of Medar, Inc. whose shares trade under the symbol MDXR on the Nasdaq Exchange.

Coreco designs and markets leading edge hardware and related products for the high-end computer vision computer vision - A branch of artificial intelligence and image processing concerned with computer processing of images from the real world. Computer vision typically requires a combination of low level image processing to enhance the image quality (e.g. remove noise, increase contrast) and higher level pattern recognition and image understanding to recognise features present in the image.
