CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution to Support Homeland Security "Winter Blast" Demonstration.

CoreStreet PIVMAN Software to Manage Nationwide Demonstration of First Responder Credential Validation and Attribution for Healthcare and Emergency Responders

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- CoreStreet, the leader in credential validation solutions, announced that its CoreStreet PIVMAN[TM] Solution will be used as an integral part of the March 6 Winter Blast First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC) usage demonstration, co-hosted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Office of National Capital Region Coordination (NCRC).

Winter Blast is focused on the healthcare and emergency responder industry's adoption and implementation of the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201 interoperable First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC) credentialing system. More specifically, the demonstration aims to familiarize the Federal and Mutual Aid medical communities with the National Preparedness Credentialing and Typing Model Standard Framework. The primary focus is the National Response Framework (NRF) Emergency Support Function (ESF) 8 "Public Health and Medical Services" for Federal and Mutual Aid emergency response officials. This includes the Emergency System for Advanced Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP) and other healthcare responders. The CoreStreet PIVMAN software for handheld devices and related backend servers will manage the credential validation and privilege attribution for nearly 200 participants of the Winter Blast demonstration.

"We are very pleased that the CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution continues to play a key role in the DHS FEMA and Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) demonstrations," said Chris Broderick, CEO of CoreStreet. "Securing the perimeter in the wake of a disaster can be a daunting task, particularly when it comes to ensuring only authorized healthcare personnel have access to the site. The CoreStreet PIVMAN software is designed to quickly and effectively provide secure access to disaster sites, enabling the Federal Government to continue its efforts in making sure that outside of Winter Blast and other demonstrations, we are effective in protecting our nation's citizens."

CoreStreet personnel will oversee deployments of the CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution supporting Winter Blast exercises at the event's headquarters at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial, Arlington, VA; The Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital and The George Washington University Hospital both Washington DC; Temple University Hospital and Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA; and, the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council (STRAC) in San Antonio, TX.

The CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution consists of software for handheld devices and related server software designed to allow authorized personnel the ability to control access to any site with confidence by quickly authenticating and validating the roles and identities of individuals wishing to enter a secured area. With the CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution, information on a very large number of individuals, well into the hundreds of millions, can be managed without affecting performance and without requiring a persistent connection to a data source. The CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution was also a key part of the 2007 "Winter Storm" and "Summer Breeze" DHS FRAC demonstrations. Since its launch in September 2006, the CoreStreet PIVMAN Solution has been deployed by numerous federal, state and local governments for the DoD military ID credential Common Access Cards (CACs) and FIPS-201-compliant credential validation.
