CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- CoreStreet, the leader in infrastructure and applications for smart credential and convergence programs, announced that SuperCom, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

.

The PIVMAN System was chosen as part of a three-agency Mobile Credentialing System for its ability to read and accurately determine the status and privileges associated with any Federal Information Processing Standard Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) are publicly announced standards developed by the United States Federal government for use by all non-military government agencies and by government contractors.  201 (FIPS 201) credential in any environment, with or without network connectivity. Compatible credential types include the Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC See Consumer Advisory Council. ), the First Responder Authentication Credential (FRAC) and the Transportation Worker Identification Credential The Transportation Worker Identification Credential (or TWIC) program is a Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Coast Guard initiative in the United States.  (TWIC); which, thanks to PIVMAN, will work with the SuperCom solution that manages temporary and permanent Los Angeles city identification cards.

"SuperCom selected the PIVMAN System as the Handheld Verification Unit for their Mobile Credentialing System because of its ability to read a variety of current and future FIPS 201-compliant credentials. The City of Los Angeles has numerous federal, state and local agencies working in the same areas, with federal officials and first responders working alongside City of Los Angeles employees. This made PIVMAN an easy choice. It works with our system and answers the need for validation of any FIPS 201 credential and CAC that is deployed in the area," said A. Benjamin Mannes, national account manager at SuperCom, Inc.

Tested and deployed by a number of government agencies, the PIVMAN System consists of software for rugged handheld devices and back-end servers designed to quickly verify information on cardholders, without the need for special pre-enrollment procedures. Essentially, if an individual has been issued a FIPS 201-compliant card, then that individual is in the PIVMAN System.

"We are very excited to be part of this project," said Chris Broderick, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "Many of our recent efforts have focused on the National Capital Region, where we have seen the most FIPS 201-related activity. Yet, the city of Los Angeles confirms its status as a standard bearer by understanding the far-reaching importance of this credentialing initiative. FIPS 201 stands to affect every state and local government, even those well beyond the beltway Beyond the Beltway with Bruce DuMont is a long-running nationally-syndicated political talk show based in Chicago at the Museum of Broadcast Communications([1]).
