Core cutter system.

Appleton Manufacturing has introduced the A400P Automatic Core Cutter system designed to cut both plastic and fiber cores. The A400P features a hydraulic-powered core feed and cutoff along with automated batch processing for optimum operating efficiency. New hydraulic valving results in an enhanced range of feed and cutting speeds to accommodate a wide range of core materials. Appleton's fixed-knife design provides clean, polished, virtually dust-free cuts by slitting paper core material, rather than sawing, scoring or crush cut ring. Appleton's proprietary parting tool technology, along with a chip removal vacuum system, helps ensure clean, square-cuts on all plastic cores without risk of melting plastic edges.

The A400P is easy to operate with an LCD operator interface that simplifies data input and provides operator feed back. An auto-off feature stops the cutter when idle, saving energy while improving operator safety. As a PLC-equipped cutter, the A400P can readily accept additional automation options including an auto-indexing knife and automated parent and cut-core handling systems.
