Cordeus, Inc. to Present at Windhover Information and Medtech Insight's 'Investment In Innovation' Conference.

BOSTON -- Patrick J. Mallon, President and CEO of Cordeus, will present the company's first public briefing, Thursday afternoon on October 21st at Windhover Information and Medtech Insight's Prestigious "Investment In Innovation" Event, taking place October 21-22, 2004 at the Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston.

Cordeus, a privately held cardiovascular device company headquartered in San Diego, is developing a new technology -- Impedance Cardiovelocimetry or ICV -- that utilizes a proprietary disposable device to non-invasively measure the heart's ability to deliver blood to the body. Abnormal blood flow, or cardiac output, is evidence of congestive heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. Accurate cardiac output measurement and monitoring is essential for effective patient therapy. Cordeus' non-invasive ICV technology enables physicians to accurately and easily measure, monitor and diagnose cardiovascular function and disease.

A clinical study comparing Cordeus ICV methodology to the gold standard of thermodilution, where a catheter is inserted into the patient's pulmonary artery, has shown the two methods to be equivalent. In the same study, Cordeus ICV was shown to be superior to the non-invasive method of impedance cardiography. This work will be presented for the first time at the American Society of Anesthesiologists 2004 Annual Meeting, October 23-27 in Las Vegas. Presenting the study at the meeting will be Donald P. Bernstein, M.D., a world renowned expert in the field of bioimpedance and impedance cardiography.
