Corcoran cover boy Henry gives a boost to direct mail.


Henry the dog is a new face in New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 City's residential real estate -- literally. You may recognize him from The Corcoran Background
Corcoran. Spelling variations include: MacCorcoran, O'Corcoran,Corcorran and others.

The Irish surname Corcoran is derived from the Gaelic word Corcair, now used to denote purple but formerly meaning ruddy, or 'of reddish complexion'.

 the only person being recognized from the mailing. The Corcoran Group's broker team of Lisa Roberts and Nancy Nixon are also getting noticed. After opening the envelope, people see their mailing, which features their pictures, making them more easily recognizable when Henry is around.

"I was in the park one day and a woman said to me, "Henry is a poster boy! And you must he Lisa," said Lisa Roberts of The Corcoran Group, who is also Henry's owner. "It's great because now I'm a name and a profession, instead of just a face at the end of the leash," said Roberts.

Roberts and Nixon wanted to personalize per·son·al·ize

 their mailings and make them more interesting. So they put a photograph of Henry on the upper left-hand corner of the envelope, hoping to peak people's curiosities about what was inside.

The response has been encouraging: Nixon and Roberts are getting six times the response rate of other typical mailings.

"Henry has sparked a lot of interest for us," said Nixon. "Not only are we increasing our business, but Henry is getting lots of attention from people who recognize him from the envelope. He loves it."
