, the state owned Russian News agency news agency, local, national, international, or technical organization that gathers and distributes news, usually for newspapers, periodicals, and broadcasters.

Evolution of News Agencies



As early as the 1820s a news agency, the Association of Morning Newspapers, was formed in New York City to gather incoming reports from Europe.
. Under the terms of the agreement, Corbis will syndicate imagery for TASS on a worldwide basis, except for in Japan, China, India, Switzerland, Norway, Great Britain and Russia.

In existence since 1904, The Russian News Agency ITAR-TASS ITAR-TASS - Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (TASS successor since 1992) is one of the world's largest international information agencies. The successor to the Soviet TASS news agency, it was re-named in 1992, when Russia proclaimed its sovereignty following the collapse of the USSR. TASS operates Russia's largest photo service. This service offers pictures of the latest breaking developments, and maintains a rich photo archive dating back to the beginning of the 20th century.
